The manufacturer must be given a reasonable opportunity to make the repairs. That means that you must take the vehicle in to the dealer and tell them of the problem and ask them to fix it. What constitutes a reasonable opportunity can vary. Generally it has become custom and practice that four or more repair attempts is reasonable.
