Lemon Law: The Manufacturer's Obligation
The problem must be a substantial
one in order to qualify. It must be one that significantly impairs the
use, value, or safety of the vehicle. If a vehicle qualifies as a lemon
the obligation of the the manufacturer is to repurchase or replace it,
at the option of the consumer.
The obligation of anyone who offers
a warranty is really very simple;
"...if the manufacturer or
its representative in this state does not service or repair the goods
to conform to the applicable express warranties after a reasonable
number of attempts, the manufacturer shall either replace the goods
or reimburse the buyer in an amount equal to the purchase price..."
The requirements of the lemon
law are very technical, and the assistance of a lawyer is important
to protect your rights.
