Lemon Law: The #1 Myth
It is not necessary to have a
certain number of repairs within the first year or first 18,000 miles,
no matter what you may have heard. Four or more repairs for the same
problem, or 30 days out of service for any combination of problems within
the first 18 months or 18,000 miles may create a presumption
that the car is a lemon. Most cars qualify under the Lemon Law because
of repairs made after the first year and after
the first 18,000 miles.
Newspapers, television, manufacturers,
dealers, and even the some State agencies frequently give consumers
the wrong information.
The requirements of the lemon
law are very technical, and the assistance of a lawyer is important
to protect your rights.
